Highlights of Downtown

Parks, schools, dining, and what makes this neighborhood special

🌳 Bellevue Downtown Park

At 10201 NE 4th Street, Bellevue Downtown Park is a 21-acre green centerpiece surrounded by high-rises, Bellevue Square, and Bellevue Way. Its half-mile promenade follows a stepped canal to a dramatic 240-foot waterfall and reflecting pond. The park also includes broad lawns, formal gardens, public art, community events, and the inclusive Inspiration Playground, making it Downtown’s signature outdoor gathering place.

🏫 Bellevue Downtown Library

The Bellevue Downtown Library at 1111 110th Avenue NE anchors the neighborhood’s civic and cultural life near the Bellevue Transit Center. Beyond lending books, it provides study areas, meeting rooms, technology access, public programs, and community services for residents, workers, and visitors. Its central location makes it an especially useful indoor destination within Downtown’s dense office, residential, and retail core.

🍽️ Old Main Street

Old Main Street, centered on Main Street between Bellevue Way NE and 108th Avenue NE, preserves Downtown Bellevue’s most distinctly neighborhood-scaled commercial strip. Sidewalk cafés, independent restaurants, cocktail lounges, specialty shops, and longtime businesses create a more intimate atmosphere than the surrounding towers and malls. Restaurants such as Bis on Main, 520 Bar & Grill, and Araya’s Place contribute to its lively dining identity.

🛒 Bellevue Collection

The Bellevue Collection—Bellevue Square, Lincoln Square, and Bellevue Place—forms Downtown’s major shopping and entertainment district between Bellevue Way NE, NE 8th Street, and NE 4th Street. The interconnected complex offers hundreds of retailers, restaurants, cinemas, services, and indoor pedestrian routes. Its concentration of stores and dining helps define Downtown as the Eastside’s premier urban retail destination.

🚴 Bellevue Downtown Station and NE 6th Street

Bellevue Downtown Station on Sound Transit’s 2 Line brings regional rail directly into the neighborhood, with entrances near NE 6th Street and Bellevue Way NE. The station connects Downtown to Seattle, Mercer Island, and Redmond while complementing the nearby Bellevue Transit Center. Its arrival strengthens the area’s walkable core, where riders can quickly reach Downtown Park, Bellevue Square, offices, hotels, and restaurants.
